Shayla has no desire to grow up, and starting Junior High was like a death sentence to her. She loved elementary school and had no desire to move to a different school, with more students and teachers. She just wanted to stay young and continue to learn in an environment that was familiar to her. She comes home from school and tries to convince us that she hates school, but then crazy things begin to happen!
She studies in crazy ways......
She decides to participate in the Reflections Program and wins for her school and gets to move on to Regionals.
Then we get a call saying we need to come to the school because she is being honored as Citizen of the Month. And then she gets honored another month or so later as the Junior High Student of the Day! Wether she likes Junior High or not, it sure seems to like her! We are so proud of who she is and who she is becoming. It's humbling to see your child succeed even at times when you're not looking!!
