Getting Into The Spirit of Christmas

Christmas festivities have been a blast this year.  We have a fun group of friends that throw a Christmas Vacation party every year.  We've never watched the show, but remedied that this year and even got into the party by dressing up as characters. ( My eyes were frozen open so I couldn't see the Christmas tree that Chevy Brian Chase picked out.)  It was a good thing we watched the show, because for the first time we not only answered some of the trivia questions, we actually won!

Luckily it snowed before Christmas so we could have a white Christmas.  We decided we better try out our new skis.  Good thing we have a great hill in our backyard!  Nothing like skiing right out of your garage!  One day we will actually make it to a mountain resort.

I broke down and bought a gingerbread kit, instead of swearing while making my own gingerbread.  Wow! That was easier and more enjoyable to follow in our gingerbread making tradition..

One of my favorite traditions is the Christmas outfit pictures!  It's so fun to see how much the girls had grown over the last year!  Every year I think I'm not buying Christmas dresses and then every year I sucker and do -- I don't regret it!  I love our pictures!

Simplify!  My motto for this year!  Another tradition that makes me curse -- cookie making.  I cannot cut out cookies without stressing, so why not turn the cookie making over to my beautiful girls! They did great and enjoyed making and decorating the cookies.  I enjoyed reading a book and not getting upset at the cookie dough.

It's time to go see the Christmas lights!  We must be sure to freeze our rear ends off by walking around Temple Square in the freezing cold!  Butt it's always worth it in the end.. because the grounds are so beautiful!  And it ends up being fun with pictures to share.

  1. What fun Christmas traditions and wonderful pictures to capture the memories. Good job eliminating the stressors too, Mom!
